Edie's got a list, and she's checked it twice, and is giving a few gifts (along with Tony) regardless. Thirteen is given a sexy nurse's outfit, not because she is a nurse, but...because she's got the legs to pull it off. There's also a nice bottle of wine for her and her girlfriend, along with the Pirate Contessa ice cream. Coreen and Squirrel receive a jar of condoms (cleverly labeled "Spring Stash" on the jar), a written offer to babysit whenever, and a coupon for a couple's massage. Though, whomever oils Squirrel up is going to be frustrated. There's also a sardonic note to Coreen tucked in an envelop along with a few white pills. Apparently Edie provided a way to knock Squirrel out if things get to be too much in the spring. Also, there is a bottle of A*Men cologne for Squirrel, since he apparently liked Tony's a lot. Evan Fennel has himself a brand-spankin' new mini-Golden Suit Elvis outfit. He will be stylin' when he gets up. Jordan Kennedy gets a carton of Desert Sunset with a drawn label of Jordan herself hanging out on a tank, pinup style in the desert. (Desert Sunset is a peyote-based ice cream, and thus clearly-labeled serving sizes.) She also tucks some money in the fund for the children and the Bound, and leaves various ice creams for them as well (of course, these ice creams are not laced with anything stronger than chocolate). Sorta like putting change in the kettles back home.

Trowa was not precisely planning to come to Milliways tonight. But he wasn't avoiding it either. So when the door opens to Milliways instead of the kitchen . . . The end result is Trowa, with a glass of eggnog (unspiked; probably Bar's idea) and a cookie (definitely Bar's idea), and a seat by the fire. (Nowhere near the mistletoe. He did, however, notice its presence.)
oom: And we fairies, that do run By the triple Hecate's team, From the presence of the sun, Following darkness like a dream ...(Puck meets an unfriendly gentleman by the lake. Truths are revealed, bargains are struck, and there is some bizarre ribbon bondage. Except not really. But sort of.)
[tiny gothic tag: Gothic Winter's Tale]

During the holiday season, likely on an otherwise unintentional visit, Mia stopped by the bar and dropped off a nice bunch of presents. There were a lot of people to shop for, so it's pretty apparent that all of it is from the same or at least similar stores. It's mostly winter gear: scarves, gloves, cloaks, sweaters, hats, and sundry other apparel. She had bought the gifts with recipients in mind, but sorting and wrapping everything seemed a daunting task to the mother-to-be. So everything has a sort of signature on it, a magical sign that will strike the person it's meant to go to as theirs. It's more effective anyway. Most everything has a warming charm. (One special exception has a cooling charm.) All gifts have a note that reads, " Happy Holidays from the Malfoy-Ausa family," as well as the Malfoy and Magic Guild crests.

Ava is roasting chestnuts on a somewhat-less-than-open fire. She's not really sure what you do with the chestnuts once you roast them, so this seems to mostly entail tossing chestnuts into the fire and watching them blacken. But she also has eggnog, and has broken out her Santa hat for the occasion, and is currently tying the final ribbons onto an assortment of Christmas bundles. Is one of them for you? (If you're Bela, Buffy, Andrew, Elle, Michael Bluth, or D'Hoffryn, the answer to this question is yes.)

Sam's finally set up with a room of his own, as he and the Bar managed to have their heads on right at the same time. He's not well yet, so Cata's still... well, all right, she's worried. (She doesn't do it often, but this is Sam. She thinks she's allowed that luxury, given how few friends she has.) Tonight, she's at a table, people-watching (and watching for one or two in particular). If she doesn't see the Medic, she'll leave what she's got for him with the Bar.

It took a lot of last-minute work, but Alyx managed to get Christmas presents ready for everyone. Granted, the bulk of those are hand-made Christmas cards rather than actual gifts, but still. They're all stacked on the bartop next to her as she sips a cup of cocoa and looks around for the future recipients of said gifts. (It doesn't occur to Alyx to leave any of the packages with Bar. Christmas gifts, as far as she's concerned, are something to be delivered in person.) [Open forever.]

" Ooh," says the costumed superhero nervously as he stares at Bar. " Are you sure? I'm not sure about this. Well, if you're sure..." Man, all Spidey wanted was coffee. But poor Peter Parker's part-time (say that five times fast) teaching job won't exactly pay off all the coffee and burgers and last-minute Chinese takeout from the last few months. A bartending shift it is. Neat chalk writing on the specials boards reads: HAPPY HOLIDAYS! Peppermint Hot Chocolate Eggnog (rum optional)--and has an arrow pointing to a bottle of bright green liquor he can't identify. Uh ... that one's for the brave folk only. One Spider-Man standing behind the Bar, then, with an empty mug and a fidgety air to show that he coffeed himself up already. "Get your amazing, spectacular drinks right here! Management cannot guarantee amazingness or, indeed, spectacularity of any beverages served." (Spectacularity is totally a word.) [ ooc: no idea how long i'll be up, but feel free to threadhop with whoever's around! and slowtimed all weekend. ]
[oom: The Sandhu family celebrate their first proper Christmas, with burnt lunch, a broken tree, but no major incidents, hospitals or deaths.]Around lunch time, the bar gets set up for the Life Support Holiday Party. Lonely? Bored? Hungry? Come join the fun! [ooc: Party behind link, have at! Open indefinitely.]

Needy isn't expecting any kind of a Christmas this year, so when her bathroom door opens onto Milliways (luckily from the bathroom side, so the first thing does is not look for a toilet), she walks through with a veritable spring in her step and happy smile. She's wearing the hat and scarf set given to her by Penny, and although she takes off the hat and stuff it half-into a jeans pocket, she keeps the scarf loosely slung over her shoulders.. it's been her only Christmas present and she expects it will be her only Christmas present, so she's keeping it on. Even if it does clash with her jacket. She takes a seat curled up in a big chair by the fire with a double-pump caramel latte, and kicks off her shoes to toast her toes. This is much better than a skeezy motel room and a ready-meal.

So Captain Jack has been... here. For quite a while, actually, and he's talked to a few old friends. Found even more missing. And in general, things have... not happened. For the first couple of weeks that was a relief, because if there's anything Torchwood attracts, it's constant events* - but then it began to nag at him, because he knows damn well why he's in stasis. The constant presence of the door that used to vanish at will is something of a clue. He once told a friend that he was better off as a coward. That wasn't strictly true because, you know, he still is, and yet still things keep getting worse. But he was chasing the Doctor, and he's been doing that for so long... giving up now would just be dumb. When he finally opens it (it takes him a while. Coward, remember?) there is nothing beyond the door, just a yawning and innocent-looking blackness. Jack stares out at it for a while, looks back over his shoulder, and steps through. The door slams shut behind him. Nothing dramatic happens. ...Here. Merry Christmas, Jack! * And attractive, loose-moralled life-forms, but Jack doesn't mind that part.
There are several packages left at the bar from Tim, this morning. ( Mike )( Melaka )( Ellen )Each recipient may notice that nothing is actually new (though, it is all in VERY good nick). With the baby on the way, Tim's finding it hard to spend money on anything. But he's sure everyone will understand.
[OOM: Gus and Jordan get the ball rolling on their plans for world domination making some "easy" cash.
The plan gets off to a fairly decent start, until it completely dissolves.] (Warnings for adult content in the first link. Nothing but a couple of crazy nutters in the second. And crime. Lots of crime. Millitimed to span the last week or so.)Gus is over by the fire place, staring at nothing in particular. Despite the intentionally relaxing atmosphere, it's not hard to see that he's a bit highstrung right now -- moreso than usual, that is. And that's saying a lot, considering his recent state of mind. And as though being pissed off about everything going completely pear-shaped isn't bad enough, he's starting to feel like he's getting a head cold. Great. [Tiny Plague Tag: IMDb Flu]

Sariel doesn't have a door now. She did a few days ago, however. This means two things: One, she's entirely over whatever strain of hallucinatry flu knocked her flat, and two, she's been able to spend a week or so entirely in her own universe. It's closing in on Christmas on the Enterprise too, along with several other holidays, only some of which are winter-related. It's a good job the small armful of presents she was carrying when she entered were intended for people in Milliways; she might have been rather stuck, otherwise. At least this time, she was inadvertently prepared for a bar ambush. Before she does much else, not counting giving the front wall a mildly exasperated look, Sariel drops off that armful of parcels with Bar, leaning to murmur something to the wood as she does so. ( Will and Kate ) ( Demeter ) ( River ) ( Harding ) ( Yrael ) ( Tanya ) ( Captain Kirk ) Once that's done, she settles in near the fireplace with a cup of hot chocolate rather than tea--gasp! She can handle having no door for another few days. It'll still be Christmas aboard ship when the way home rematerializes, after all. ((OOC: Open forever and ever, but slowtime is inevitable as holidayness carries me off.))
